Privacy Policy

Effective as of your first visit. Plain language, no fine-print tricks.

The short version

MergeCam runs 100% locally in your browser. We use no tracking cookies, require no accounts, and your data never touches our servers.

01What we collect

Nothing. MergeCam has no backend server, no database, and no analytics pipeline tied to your recordings. There is no account to create, so there is no profile of you to store.

02Where your recording goes

When you click "Start Recording Now," your browser asks you to choose a file location on your own device. Every second of video and audio is written directly to that file using your browser's built-in File System Access API — it never passes through any MergeCam server, because MergeCam doesn't have one.

03Cookies and tracking

We don't set tracking cookies, and we don't run third-party analytics or advertising scripts that follow you around the web. The only network requests this page makes are to load its own fonts and code.

04Microphone and camera access

If you enable the microphone or webcam toggle, your browser will ask for permission directly — MergeCam never sees or stores this data itself; it only routes the live stream into the file you're already saving locally. You can deny either permission and still record your screen.

05Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page. Continued use of MergeCam after a change means you accept the update.
